All colleges in America now accept either ACT or SAT. In fact, some colleges accept ACT results as a replacement for SAT and SAT Subject Tests. SAT/PSAT SUMMER BOOT CAMPS: SMALL GROUPS (3-8 STUDENTS) $1700
Vogel Prep's Boot Camps are week-long (30 hours) intensive skill and strategy building programs that are proven to elevate student performance in all aspects of the ACT and SAT - including the SAT essay! Learn Vogel Prep's ground-breaking strategies during the week, then end with an "actual conditions" practice test on the following Monday (9 am-12:30 pm), except those who will take the OFFICIAL test on Saturday, 6/2. All students must have either a previous test result or a diagnostic before the class to qualify.
SAT SUMMER WEEKEND CLASS $1400
Vogel Prep’s SAT Preparation Program teaches a combination of skills and strategies that give students their greatest opportunity for success on the achievement-oriented SAT Exam. Ideal for students preparing for both the PSAT and SAT. Vogel Prep’s methods for improving scores have proven extremely effective. Many of our students have been able to reach the school of their dreams or substantial scholarships.
ACT SUMMER BOOT CAMPS: SMALL GROUPS (3-8 STUDENTS) $1700

GAMING MATHEMATICS $600
What do mathematics and games have in common? Find the connection between games and mathematics. Discover that math is not just formulas and theorems. While playing some games, students will be exposed to game strategy, game theory, mathematical modeling and strategic games. Students will understand trends, alternate routes and patterns while enjoying some math with their peers.
SOLVING PROBLEM SOLVING $600
Mathematics isn’t about just memorizing formulas, letters, and numbers. Mathematics is about understanding and problem solving. Explore new avenues in Mathematics beyond endless homework packets, through novel problems and hands-on engagement! Students will experience and solve complex problems with content areas drawing from algebra, geometry, trigonometry, etc. Students will practice critical reading and analysis, forming coherent conjectures, exploring various solution paths, while fostering mathematical and personal confidence. This class will meet for 2 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for one week.
MATH & U $600
Mathematics is not just what students get presented in textbooks and classrooms as a combination of numbers, symbols and letters. Mathematics is about solving problems, and each job will have its own challenges. In this 10-hour one-week workshop, students will learn about how mathematics touch us in everyday life, applications in various careers (architecture, engineering, business, science, politics, etc.), and further understand how statistics and analysis impacts our world using simple exercises. This class will meet for 2 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for one week.
NEW! GET TO THE ROOT OF WORDS! $600
Studies have demonstrated that a person’s vocabulary is the single best predictor of professional success regardless of industry. It has also been proven as one of the key indicators of students’ success in school, on standardized tests, and indeed, in life. This condensed, 10-hour workshop will focus on looking at word families based on their relationships to a specific theme and their juxtaposition with Latin or Greek roots. In just 10 hours, our students gain insight into how to look at unknown words in the future. This foundational course is ideal for students planning to take the HSPT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT in the future. This class will meet for 2 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for one week.
NEW! HIGH SCHOOL SURVIVAL SKILLS $900
Build essential reading comprehension skills, speedy note-taking skills, presentation skills, calculator skills, computer skills (i.e. Excel) and critical study, planning and self-management skills (EQ), and problem solving. This course will provide the tools needed to ensure your student reaches his or her full potential in high school.
MATH TUNE-UP PRE-SAT/ACT $600
Designed for high school students who want to master math on the college entrance exams. Taught by the same teachers who teach SAT or ACT test prep. Vogel Prep students will review the fundamentals of math that are tested on both SAT and ACT and will get to practice with lots of exercises and quizzes. A discussion on tips to avoid pitfalls on these tests will also be included. This is a great review for students that will be doing the SAT or ACT and need to refresh some of the concepts before starting test prep classes. This is a 10 hour class that runs Monday through Friday for 2 hours each day or a total of 10 hours.
GRAMMAR REVIEW FOR ACT OR SAT $600
Designed for high school students who want to master grammar on the college entrance exams. Taught by the same teachers who teach SAT or ACT test prep. Reading well is essential to student success. Quality reading addresses many things: comprehension, understanding, critical thinking, and efficiency. Students will learn to remember information, understand basic content, and interpret material effectively. Academic reading skills will include: annotating texts, predicting quiz questions, identifying main topics, and developing the ability to move from the literal to the figurative when reading. Students will have homework, including reading and eye speed exercises to improve speed and focus. This class runs for two weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 2.5 hours each time or a total of 15 hours.

CODING WITH PYTHON $550
Python is a high level general purpose programming language that is easy to learn and serves as a gateway to more syntax heavy programming languages such as C++. By learning Python, one can learn the basic code structures and object oriented programming. Applications may include: games, business modeling, math and music composition. Python has a very clear syntax that may be absent in some other languages, and yet it is very powerful. It also introduces many key concepts such as loops, functions, data structures, and object oriented design that is found across virtually every programming language. Thus, in combining easy to learn syntax with higher level programming principles, Python can introduce anyone into writing code on a computer and you can even program your first game. This will be a 10 hour class that will be done as a small group Monday through Friday for 2 hours each day or a total of 10 hours. Please bring your lap top.

COLLEGE APPLICATION ESSAY WRITING SEMINAR $600*
Wondering how you are going to describe yourself and talk about your dreams in 500 words while avoiding clichés? Do you want to set yourself apart from the crowd of other college-bound hopefuls?
Vogel Prep’s College Essay Writing seminar is a hands-on interactive way for your student to master writing his or her college application essay and build on the writing skills needed for college success. Our course will cover the essential elements of writing a successful college application essay, helping your student compose a well-written and compelling essay. Students will develop their college essays from scratch, finishing the seminar with a sound essay draft. If your student already has a draft of an essay, we will work with him or her on the process of editing and revision. A good college essay can help your student’s application stand out from the thousands of applications that colleges and universities receive, and give college admission officers an inside look at what makes your student so special. In this four day seminar, we will discuss strategies for translating your personal experiences and aspirations into a specific and engaging essay. Meets Monday through Thursday for 2 hours each time or a total of 8 hours.

Searching for the "perfect fit" college or university is a time-consuming, sometimes stressful process.
It can also be a greatly rewarding experience, as there are so many possibilities open to students as to how they will spent the next 4 years of their lives. Vogel Prep’s College Choice seminar will help students in their college search, by encouraging them to think about the search is a journey of self-discovery. Students will consider some tough questions, such as: What’s important to you? Where are your career interests? What activities do you enjoy? What type of college experience would you like to have? Students will leave this course with a list of colleges that they are interested in and the entrance requirements for each, a timeline for their application process, and guidance on how to write a successful college entrance essay. Student should bring a resume with them to the first class meeting. Meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for 2 hours each time or a total of 6 hours.

Give your student a head start on his/her fall classes by previewing the first few chapters of tough courses ( i.e. Math, Physics or Chemistry) or AP courses (i.e History or English). We will work by appointment on your schedule to do some Fall Previews before school starts. We recommend 8 to 10 hours to get a significant back to school impact. Let your students start with the right foot forward. Let us know your needs and we can come up with a custom program that meets your needs.
