Python is a high level general purpose programming language that is easy to learn and serves as a gateway to more syntax heavy programming languages such as C++. By learning Python, one can learn the basic code structures and object oriented programming. Applications may include: games, business modeling, math and music composition. Python has a very clear syntax that may be absent in some other languages, and yet it is very powerful. It also introduces many key concepts such as loops, functions, data structures, and object oriented design that is found across virtually every programming language. Thus, in combining easy to learn syntax with higher level programming principles, Python can introduce anyone into writing code on a computer and you can even program your first game. This will be a 10 hour class that will be done as a small group Monday through Friday for 2 hours each day. Please bring your lap top.
