You have prepared hard and trained your mind to perform under pressure. It is not necessary to cram at the last minute. Now you must trust in yourself, your work and the process. You will get the best results when you approach your test from a relaxed state of mind. Visualize the answers coming to you smooth and easy.
Before the Test - The day before the test, be sure to eat a healthy dinner. Avoid extra sugars. They are known to create feelings of agitation in the body. Decide to go to bed early to guarantee you get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Clothes carry energy. Pick the outfit that makes you feel like a rock star every time you wear it. Studies have shown this has an impact on test results. A deep sleep will help you to wake up more energized. When you get into bed, turn off all distractions including television, music and extra lights. Lying on your back begin with your big toes and isolate it until it completely relaxes. Work your way up your body, relaxing each muscle as you progress toward your head. Learn to use your nose as a gasket and release any pressure you feel in your body by exhaling. This exercise will release all tension from the body.
Prepare all the items that you will need for the next day. Remember to bring a calculator with fresh batteries, watch (digital if available), a good eraser, at least two No. 2 pencils, water and snacks, an acceptable Photo ID and your SAT Admission Ticket. Please note that neither mechanical pencils nor pens are allowed.
Test Day - You worked so hard until now. … Time to deliver. Plan a healthy breakfast but bring snacks. A healthy snack will go a long way toward keeping you alert during the test. Sing in the shower and tell yourself that you will do great! Fill your mind with positive thoughts.
Unless otherwise instructed, you need to arrive at your assigned test center by 7:45 a.m. Testing should be completed around 1 p.m. Make sure you use a No. 2 pencil on the answer sheet. It is very important that you fill in the entire circle darkly and completely. If you change your response, erase it as completely as possible. Incomplete marks or erasures may affect your score. It is very important that you follow these instructions when filling out your answer sheet.
